About Beth Merill

Singer/songwriter and worship leader from Hertfordshire, UK.

Throughout her childhood and youth, Beth has always had a passion to be creative.  Originally born in Birkenhead in the late 80's to musical parents, and growing up in New Brighton, Wallasey - she discovered her love for singing by age 5, and was soon after playing the piano by age 8.

The more she continued to enjoy singing growing up thanks to her Nans influence, the more her love and passion grew for music.  As a teenager she suffered from depression, bullying and rejection, that caused her to struggle with confidence, which ultimately affected her ability to believe in herself and pursue music.

Instead, Beth trained as a designer and followed her other love for art and design, which proved to be a sustainable option during her 20's.

However her Faith in the Lord Jesus was always with her especially during those dark inner battles and outer challenges, and as the years went by she knew that within her hearts core, apart from the Lord Jesus taking first place, her love for music had always been her biggest healer emotionally, mentally & spiritually. If there was one way Beth could pick up the phone and have God on speed dial, worship would always be her best connection.

Later on, Beth realised she was not alone struggling with depression, anxiety & lack of self worth, and so it was through her music the passion to help others  grew strongly within her.  In 2015, she started a YouTube channel sharing cover songs of hope, encouragement and worship.

She soon after became part of the Church Worship band, and would on a regular basis play keys and eventually began singing backing vocals.  Her confidence started to grow as she became more comfortable singing & playing instruments with others in public settings. 

Fast forward to 2020, Beth started to lead worship for her house group over zoom, and soon after she was leading worship regularly for the entire church over Youtube and Facebook live.  Looking back Beth knew that all the lies the enemy had been feeding her all her life could never be more untrue and wrong.  For the first time she was beginning to overcome those dark voices and break out of the cage of fear that she had been battling with for all of those years.

As time has continued, through leading worship and growing in her musical ability - she has started to believe that maybe there is more to come, and so much more that God wants to do musically within her for His Glory.  So in October 2020, Beth plucked up the courage to release her first ever single 'Be Still and Know' and also released a Christmas song in December entitled 'Messiah' upon which she'd written and produced both of in 2019.

Beth is now on a mission to raise funds for her first ever EP and would love for you to come on board this journey and help her make this a reality.
